BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life until July 2, 2023 in Szczecin
BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life shows the complexity, resilience, and vulnerability of the human body through anatomical studies of the body in distress, disease, and optimal health.
Real human specimens including spectacular whole-body plastinates and body configurations, translucent slices, and organs, as well as interactive elements, 3D displays, and other multimedia – are curated and presented in galleries that feature the various systems of the body and the various stages of our physical existence in BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life.
BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life is curated by Dr. Angelina Whalley to offer a spectacularly unique chance for visitors to explore the intricate biology and physiology of the human body. This presentation asks visitors to consider the body through all stages of development and life. In addition to showcasing the wonders of human development, the extraordinary real specimens demonstrate the complexity, resilience and vulnerability of the human body in distress, disease and optimal health. Visitors will marvel at the life processes that are captured in the exhibition and will leave with a new appreciation of the power we have to keep our bodies healthy throughout the life span.
Specimens on display stem from the Institute for Plastination’s body donation program and are preserved through plastination, a remarkable scientific process invented by pioneering anatomist Dr. Gunther von Hagens.
